I am lucky to have embraced a golden era of freelance photography, working for more than ten years throughout Asia on assignment for major publications. As well as shooting countless riots plus the 1988 Olympic Games in South Korea, I visited isolated North Korea on five occasions and mainland China nearly fifty times, played witness to Hongkong’s final decade as a British colony – and worked everywhere from Afghanistan to Japan. The golden era is over, and nowadays I am content to illustrate my own travel stories. View a small selection of photographs from my Editorial, North Korea & Shetland portfolios.
